Privacy Policy¶

Thank you for using Night Screen (the "App"), provided by Androxus ("we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains what the App collects, what it does not, and what you can switch off.
Overview¶
Night Screen's screen filter works entirely on your device. It shows ads and uses Firebase for analytics, crash reporting and remote configuration.
The short version:
- The dimmer, blue light filter and colour overlay work entirely on your device. What's on your screen is never read, recorded or sent anywhere
- Auto Schedule uses a sunset time and a morning time that you set yourself. The App does not use or request your device's location
- The App shows ads through Google AdMob, which may use Meta Audience Network as a mediation partner
- Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics run in the App and are not currently gated behind an in-app consent toggle. Analytics records app-usage and purchase events only, never your filter colours, schedule times or screen content
- Buying Night Screen Pro removes ads
- No accounts, no sign-in. Your settings stay on your device; we run no server of our own for them

Nothing on this list includes your filter colours, brightness levels, schedule times, or anything shown on your screen.
Auto Schedule and location¶
To be direct about this: Night Screen does not use your location. Auto Schedule's Sunset Time and Morning Time are clock times that you choose yourself in Settings → Schedule. The App does not request location permission, does not read your device's GPS or network location, and does not calculate an astronomical sunset for you anywhere in its code.
Advertising¶
The App shows ads from Google AdMob on the free plan: a banner on the home screen, and an app-open ad when you return to the App after using something else. AdMob may serve these ads itself or through mediation partners, which include Meta Audience Network (the App includes Meta's mediation adapter).
Consent. On first launch, the App asks Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) to show a consent form where regulations such as GDPR require it, typically for users in the EEA and UK. The Google Mobile Ads SDK initialises when you open the home screen.
Where ads are shown, AdMob and its mediation partners may receive your advertising ID, device and app information, IP address, and your interactions with ads, and may use them to personalise advertising. Buying Night Screen Pro removes ads entirely.
Analytics¶
The App uses Firebase Analytics. Unlike the ad consent form above, analytics collection is not currently gated behind an in-app consent toggle: it runs whenever you use the released App.

That is the complete list. There is no event for which filter mode or colour you choose, your brightness level, your schedule times, or anything the overlay displays. Firebase also derives standard information such as an app instance identifier, device model, operating system version and approximate country from your IP address.
Crash reporting¶
The App uses Firebase Crashlytics in release builds to record crashes and handled errors. A crash report contains the stack trace, device model, operating system version and app state at the time. It does not contain your screen content.
Crash reporting is not currently exposed as a user-facing toggle. If you would prefer not to send crash reports, contact us.
Remote configuration¶
The App uses Firebase Remote Config to fetch a small number of feature flags, currently three, covering things like how the reminder and feedback prompts behave. It's fetched about once an hour and sends no personal information.
Purchases¶
If you buy Night Screen Pro, the transaction is handled entirely by Google Play, as a monthly subscription, an annual subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase. We never see or receive your payment details. The App verifies your purchase using Google Play's signed receipt on your device; no purchase data is sent to any Androxus server. Google's advertising SDK also adds its own permissions for ad measurement (including an advertising ID permission), covered under Advertising above.
Tutorial videos¶
During setup, before you reach the permission screen, the App automatically downloads the "display over other apps" tutorial video from our own server (androxus.com) so it's ready if you need it; this request includes your phone's manufacturer group (for example "samsung") to pick the right clip, and is skipped if you've already granted that permission. No account, name, advertising ID or other identifier is sent. The video is cached on your device so it doesn't need to download again. Opening a tutorial later plays the saved clip, fetching any part that hadn't finished downloading from the same address; if nothing was saved, it plays a generic video that doesn't name your manufacturer.
What's stored on your device¶
Your brightness and colour levels, the filter mode you last used, your Auto Schedule settings (Sunset Time, Morning Time, transition duration, maximum intensity), your daily reminder settings, your language choice, and your purchase status. All of this stays in the App's local storage on your device. We don't have a server that syncs or backs it up.
Data we do not collect¶
To be explicit, Night Screen does not collect, store off device, or transmit to us:
- Your location
- What's shown on your screen, or any screenshot or recording of it
- Your contacts
- Your files, photos or documents
- Anything through your camera or microphone
- Notification content
- Your name, email address or any account identity
The About screen checks your SIM or network country only to decide whether to show a WhatsApp community link. That check stays on your device and is never sent to us or anyone else.

Because we hold no account and run no server for your settings, there is no profile of you for us to export or erase. Data held by Google or Meta as a result of ads, analytics or crash reporting is subject to their own controls.
Children's Privacy¶
Night Screen is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us.
Changes to this Privacy Policy¶
We may update this Privacy Policy. Significant changes will be reflected here and in the release notes on Google Play. The effective date at the top shows when it was last revised.
