Troubleshooting

The charging screen (Always On Display) doesn't appear

  1. Confirm display over other apps is granted: Android Settings → Apps → AmpereFlow → permissions. AmpereFlow also has its own tutorial for this, with device-specific steps for Samsung, Xiaomi, OnePlus, Oppo, Vivo, Realme, Huawei and others
  2. On the Details tab, confirm monitoring is turned on
  3. Check Always On Display Activation in the Design tab - it may be set to only show when the device is locked, for example
  4. Check Hide On A Schedule in the Design tab isn't hiding the screen during the current hours
  5. Follow Disable Battery Optimization in Settings → System & permissions, so Android doesn't stop the background service

Monitoring stops or the charging screen stops appearing after a while

This is almost always Android or your phone manufacturer restricting the background service, and it's common on Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, Realme, OnePlus and Huawei devices.

  1. Settings → System & permissions → Disable Battery Optimization
  2. Settings → System & permissions → Additional Permission Required, which opens a tutorial for your specific device brand
  3. Lock AmpereFlow in your recent-apps list if your launcher supports it

The wattage or current reading looks wrong

  • Try Dual Cell Battery Mode in Settings → Units. Some dual-cell phones - many OnePlus, iQOO and Realme models - report half the real voltage, which makes the calculated wattage look like half of what your charger actually delivers
  • AmpereFlow corrects known per-model reporting quirks automatically, and this improves over time as more AmpereFlow users on the same phone model contribute readings. See the Privacy Policy for what that involves

Battery Health isn't shown

  • Battery Health needs a charge of at least 20% to appear at all
  • Charge to 100% for the most accurate result

The Usage tab is empty

Grant Usage Access: AmpereFlow prompts for this the first time you open the tab, or you can grant it directly in Android Settings → Apps with usage access.

Media controls or notification icons don't show on the charging screen

  • Grant Notification Access when prompted, or from Settings → System & permissions
  • Confirm Show Media Player Controls or Show Notifications on AOD is turned on in the Design tab - both are Pro features
  • For media controls specifically, start playback in your music app first; AmpereFlow reads the active media session, so there has to be one

A charge, discharge or temperature alert doesn't fire

  • Confirm the alert's slider is turned on and set within range, in Settings → Alerts
  • Confirm the Alarm Sound isn't set to Silent
  • Confirm notifications are allowed for AmpereFlow in Android Settings, and that monitoring is turned on

A widget shows as locked

Every widget except the small Battery Quick widget is part of AmpereFlow Pro. Upgrade, or remove the widget and add the free one instead.
