AmpereFlow: Battery Charging

Welcome to the official documentation for AmpereFlow, a battery charging monitor for Android that shows live charging speed, battery health, charge history and a customisable Always On Display for whenever you plug in.

What is AmpereFlow?

AmpereFlow reads your phone's battery and charging sensors and turns them into live watts and amps, fast-charging detection, estimated battery health and capacity, and a full-screen charging animation. Battery sensors are reported inconsistently between phone manufacturers, so AmpereFlow applies device-aware corrections, built from readings shared anonymously by other AmpereFlow users on the same phone model, to keep the numbers accurate for your device.

Quick Start

  1. Install AmpereFlow from Google Play and open it
  2. Follow the setup screens and grant the display over other apps permission when asked - this powers the charging stats and the Always On Display
  3. Plug in your phone - live watts, amps and the charging screen appear automatically
  4. Open the Design tab to pick a meter style, clock and colours
  5. Check History for past sessions and Usage for app screen time

Requirements

  • Android 7.0 or later

The display-over-other-apps permission is requested during setup, since it powers the app's main screen. A few other features - Notification Access for media controls, and Usage Access for the Usage tab - ask for their own permission only when you turn that feature on.
