Privacy Policy¶

Thank you for using AmpereFlow (the "App"), provided by Androxus ("we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains what the App collects, what it does not, and what you can switch off.
Overview¶
AmpereFlow reads your phone's battery and charging sensors to show live stats on your device. To correct for the fact that phone manufacturers report those sensors inconsistently, it also shares battery and charging readings with our own backend, identified by your phone's manufacturer and model rather than by you.
The short version:
- Battery and charging readings are shared with our backend to correct sensor differences between phone models and to power features like "Charge at Each Battery Level." This is identified by your phone model, never by your name, email or an advertising ID
- Analytics is on from first launch and has no consent step at all, to help us understand feature usage and the purchase flow
- Ads are shown in the free version through Google AdMob. The Mobile Ads SDK initialises automatically whenever the App starts, and on the free version an ad request can go out before the consent form has been answered; buying Pro removes ads entirely. Ads never appear on the Always On Display
- No accounts, no sign-in
- Notification Access, if you grant it, is used only to show which apps have a notification and what's currently playing - never the content of your notifications
- Your charge history, widget layouts and settings stay on your device

Battery, charging and device data¶
Android does not tell an app the exact unit or scale its battery sensors use, and different phone manufacturers report current, voltage and charge level in different, sometimes incorrect, ways. AmpereFlow corrects for this using data shared by AmpereFlow users on the same phone model. Specifically, while monitoring is turned on, the App automatically:
- Looks up your phone model against our backend each time you open the App, to see whether a correction profile already exists for it
- Uploads timestamped battery samples (current, voltage, charge counter, energy counter, temperature, charge level, charging status, plug type, screen state and similar) it has gathered on your device, so your phone model's sensor quirks can be identified. This normally happens once, after the App has gathered enough samples
- Uploads a summary of each charging session (start and end battery level, wattage by level, charger type such as AC, USB or wireless), capped to a small number of uploads a day, to build features such as "Charge at Each Battery Level," "Charging Insights" and device comparisons
- Occasionally sends a few facts your phone reports about itself: its chipset, its manufacturer-stated battery capacity, and, where Android exposes it, how many times its battery has been charged. This is sent once per app version, plus a small daily count of how often the Always On Display could launch in the background, used to see which phone brands silently block it
Everything above is identified only by your phone's manufacturer, model and Android version (for example, "samsung_sm-g991b_35"), the same identifier every phone of that exact model and Android version shares - not a unique ID for your individual device. It is never linked to your name, email, an advertising ID or an account; AmpereFlow has none of those to link it to. We keep this data merged by phone model, and keep the underlying samples so we can review and verify a model's correction profile using our own internal tools.
Like any request to a web server, our infrastructure may briefly process your IP address to deliver the response; our database does not store it alongside your battery data.
Device-specific tutorial videos¶
AmpereFlow downloads two short device-setup videos automatically during onboarding, before you reach the permission screens, so they're ready to play without a wait: one for the display-over-other-apps permission (skipped if that permission is already granted), and one for manufacturer-specific "additional permissions" settings, which is always downloaded since Android has no way for the App to check that setting in advance. Which file is fetched for each is chosen by your phone's manufacturer group (for example Samsung, Xiaomi, OnePlus, Oppo, Vivo, Realme or Huawei), or a generic video if we don't have one for your brand. Opening a tutorial later plays the saved clip, fetching any part that hadn't finished downloading from the same address; if nothing was saved, it plays a generic video that doesn't name your manufacturer. No personal information is sent - only which video files to fetch during setup.
Advertising¶
The App shows ads from Google AdMob in the free version: a banner on its main screens, and occasionally a full-screen interstitial or an app-open ad when you return to AmpereFlow. Ads never appear on the Always On Display / charging screen.
AdMob mediation may route a request through additional ad partners, currently including Meta Audience Network, under the same consent described below.
Consent. On first launch, where required, the App presents Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) consent form. The Mobile Ads SDK initialises automatically as soon as the App starts, for every install including AmpereFlow Pro, and on the free version a banner ad can be requested before you have responded to the consent form. AmpereFlow Pro users are never shown the consent form or any ads.
When you consent, AdMob and its mediation partners may receive your advertising ID, IP address, device and app information, and your interactions with ads, and may use them to personalise advertising. Buying Pro removes ads entirely.
Analytics¶
The App uses Firebase Analytics to understand feature usage and the purchase flow. Unlike ads, Analytics has no consent step at all - it is active from your first launch, and AmpereFlow does not currently offer an in-app switch to turn it off.
Analytics events fall into these categories, and nothing else:

There is no event for your charging readings, your battery health, your history, or anything you view on the Details, History or Usage tabs. Firebase also derives standard information such as an app-instance identifier, device model, operating system version and approximate country from your IP address.
Crash reporting¶
The App uses Firebase Crashlytics in release builds to record crashes and handled errors. A crash report contains the stack trace, device model, operating system version and app state at the time.
Crash reporting is not currently exposed as a user-facing toggle. If you would prefer not to send crash reports, contact us.
Remote configuration¶
The App uses Firebase Remote Config to fetch a small number of feature flags - currently whether to show a reminder-notification prompt, a free-trial experiment flag, whether to use Google Play's in-app review prompt, and the daily cap on charging-session uploads described above. It's fetched about once a day and sends no personal information.
Purchases¶
If you buy AmpereFlow Pro - monthly, annual, or a one-time lifetime purchase - the transaction is handled entirely by Google Play. We never see or receive your payment details. The App verifies your entitlement with Play. See the Google Play Privacy Policy.

Notification Access¶
Media player controls and notification icons on the Always On Display both need Notification Access, an Android permission that's more powerful than most, so we want to be precise about it.
What it does:
- Reads which other apps currently have an active notification, and their icon, so it can show a strip of notification icons on the charging screen if you turn that on
- Reads the currently active media-playback session - track title, artist, artwork and playback state - so it can show and control playback on the charging screen if you turn that on
What it does not do:
- It does not read the text or content of your notifications
- It does not store any of this beyond your device's memory while the App is running, and does not transmit any of it anywhere; it's drawn only into your own charging screen
You can revoke Notification Access at any time in Android Settings. Both features stop working; nothing else changes.
What's stored on your device¶
Your charge and discharge history, widget layouts, Design and Settings choices, and alert thresholds all stay on your device, in the App's own storage. AmpereFlow turns off Android's automatic app backup, so this data is not copied to any cloud backup. Clear your charge history any time from Settings → Clear Charge History, or remove everything by uninstalling the App.
Data we do not collect¶
To be explicit, AmpereFlow does not collect or transmit to us:
- Your name, email address or any account identity - there is no account
- Your precise location
- The content of your notifications
- Your files, photos or contacts - the App does not request access to any of them
- A general list of your installed apps
- Screen content, screenshots or recordings

Because AmpereFlow holds no account, there is no profile tied to your identity for us to export or erase. Battery and charging data we hold is identified by phone model, not by you. Data held by Google or Meta as a result of ads, analytics or crash reporting is subject to their own controls.
Children's Privacy¶
AmpereFlow is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us.
Changes to this Privacy Policy¶
We may update this Privacy Policy. Significant changes will be reflected here and in the release notes on Google Play. The effective date at the top shows when it was last revised.
