General¶
What is AmpereFlow?¶
A battery charging monitor for Android. It shows live charging speed in watts and amps, fast-charging detection, estimated battery health and capacity, charge history, and a customisable Always On Display for your lock screen while charging.
Which Android versions are supported?¶
Android 7.0 and later.
Does AmpereFlow need root access?¶
No.
Is there an iOS version?¶
No, AmpereFlow is Android only.
Does AmpereFlow make my phone charge faster?¶
No. AmpereFlow reads and displays data your phone's own battery sensors report - it has no way to change what your charger, cable or phone's charging circuitry actually deliver.
Always On Display¶
What is the Always On Display?¶
A full-screen charging animation that appears on your lock screen while your phone charges, showing live watts, amps, battery percentage and other stats you choose. Turn it on from the Design tab; see the User Guide for every option.
Why doesn't the charging screen appear when I plug in?¶
Almost always a missing "display over other apps" permission, monitoring turned off, or a schedule/behaviour setting hiding it on purpose. See Troubleshooting.
Can I choose what the charging screen looks like?¶
Yes - a clock style, a charging meter style, a stat-row layout and a colour, all from the Design tab. A handful of styles are free; the rest are part of Pro.
Charging readings¶
Why do the watts or amps look different from my charger's rating?¶
A charger's printed wattage is a maximum, not a live reading. What AmpereFlow shows is what your phone's own battery sensors currently report. Some phones misreport current or voltage in a way that's specific to that model; AmpereFlow corrects for known cases automatically, and improves over time as more AmpereFlow users on the same phone model contribute readings. My wattage looks like about half of what it should be¶
Try Dual Cell Battery Mode in Settings → Units. Some dual-cell phones - many OnePlus, iQOO and Realme models - report half the real voltage, which makes the calculated wattage look like half of what your charger is actually delivering.
Battery health¶
Why can't I see my battery health yet?¶
Battery health needs a charge of at least 20% to appear at all, and is most accurate after a full charge to 100%.
What is "Charge at Each Battery Level"?¶
A comparison of how many mAh other AmpereFlow users' devices of your same phone model hold at each battery level, with your device marked on the chart. It's built from readings shared anonymously by other users; see the Privacy Policy.
History & Usage¶
What does AmpereFlow keep in Charge History?¶
Your past charging and discharge sessions, each with its own curve, stored on your device. Clear it any time from Settings → Clear Charge History.
What does the Usage tab show?¶
Per-app screen time for today, a 7-day chart and your top app, built from Android's Usage Access data on your device.
Do I need to grant a permission for the Usage tab?¶
Yes, Android's Usage Access, which AmpereFlow asks for the first time you open the tab.
Widgets & Pro¶
Which widgets are free?¶
The small Battery Quick widget. The medium and large battery widgets, and every single-stat and graph widget, are part of Pro.
What does Pro unlock?¶
No ads, battery health insights, every charging-meter and stat-row style, every widget, and media player controls on the charging screen.
How do I restore a purchase?¶
Settings → Restore Purchase. Purchases are tied to your Google Play account, so signing in with the same account and restoring will recognise it.
Is AmpereFlow Pro a subscription?¶
You can choose a monthly subscription, an annual subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase, all billed through Google Play.
Privacy¶
Does AmpereFlow send my battery data anywhere?¶
Yes. To correct for battery-sensor differences between phone models and to power comparisons like "Charge at Each Battery Level," AmpereFlow shares battery and charging readings with our own backend, tied to your phone's manufacturer and model rather than to you personally. Full detail is in the Privacy Policy.
Does Notification Access let AmpereFlow read my notifications?¶
No. When you grant it for media controls or notification icons on the charging screen, AmpereFlow only reads which apps currently have a notification and the currently playing media session (title, artist, artwork) - never the text or content of your notifications.
Do I need an account?¶
No, there's no sign-in.
Does AmpereFlow show ads?¶
Yes, in the free version - a banner on the main screens, and occasional interstitial or app-open ads. Ads never appear on the Always On Display / charging screen. Pro removes ads entirely.
