Welcome to the official documentation for PDF Reader, a free Android app for opening, reading and organising PDF files on your phone.

What is PDF Reader?

PDF Reader opens PDF files from anywhere on your phone: tap its own OPEN PDF button and pick a file, or open a PDF straight from your file manager, browser or email and choose PDF Reader. It keeps track of what you've opened, remembers the page you were on, and lets you keep several documents open at once in tabs.

Key Features

  • Open PDFs from anywhere - the App's own file picker, or "Open with" from any other app
  • Recents and Favourites - every PDF you open is added to your list, and you can star any of them as a favourite
  • Tabs - keep several PDFs open at once and switch between them without losing your place
  • Autosave - the App remembers the last page you were on in every document
  • Password-protected PDFs - unlock a protected file once and the App remembers the password for next time
  • Search your library - find a file by name across Recents and Favourites
  • Comfortable night reading - a warm reading-mode overlay, plus a separate setting to invert the page's own colours
  • Text selection - select text in a PDF and copy or share it
  • Share and delete - send PDFs to other apps, or remove them from your device

Quick Start

  1. Install PDF Reader from Google Play
  2. Tap OPEN PDF and choose a file, or open a PDF from another app and pick PDF Reader
  3. The file opens in the viewer; swipe or scroll to read
  4. Find it again any time in Recents, right where you left off
