Troubleshooting¶
Solutions to common issues with AudioPay.
Voice Alerts Not Playing¶
Check Notification Access¶
- Go to Settings → Apps → Special app access → Notification access
- Find AudioPay and ensure it's enabled
- If already enabled, toggle it OFF and ON again
Check App Settings¶
- Open AudioPay
- Go to Settings tab
- Ensure Alert Sound is ON
- Tap Test Alert to verify
Check Volume¶
- Press the volume button on your device
- Expand to see all volume sliders
- Ensure Media volume is not muted
Disable Battery Optimization¶
Battery optimization can kill the app in the background.
- Go to Settings → Apps → AudioPay
- Tap Battery
- Select Unrestricted or Don't optimize
- Go to Settings → Battery → Background usage limits
- Tap Never sleeping apps
- Add AudioPay
- Go to Settings → Apps → Manage apps → AudioPay
- Tap Autostart → Enable
- Tap Battery saver → No restrictions
- Go to Settings → Battery → Battery optimization
- Find AudioPay → Select Don't optimize
- Go to Settings → Battery → More settings
- Tap Optimize battery use
- Find AudioPay → Toggle OFF
Check Do Not Disturb¶
DND mode may silence alerts.
- Go to Settings → Sound → Do Not Disturb
- Add AudioPay as an exception, OR
- Disable DND temporarily to test
Don't Force Close the App¶
Swiping away from recent apps may kill the notification listener.
- Open AudioPay at least once after phone restart
- Avoid force-closing from recent apps
- Lock the app in recent apps (if supported by your device)
Notifications Not Detected¶
Verify UPI App Support¶
AudioPay supports:
- Google Pay
- PhonePe
- Paytm
- BHIM
- Amazon Pay
- WhatsApp Pay
Other UPI apps may not be supported yet.
Check UPI App Notification Settings¶
Ensure notifications are enabled for your UPI app:
- Go to Settings → Apps → [UPI App]
- Tap Notifications
- Enable notifications
Test with a Small Payment¶
Send yourself a small amount (₹1) from another UPI app to test if notifications are being detected.
App Crashes or Freezes¶
Clear App Cache¶
- Go to Settings → Apps → AudioPay
- Tap Storage
- Tap Clear Cache
Don't Clear Data
Clearing data will delete your transaction history and settings.
Update the App¶
- Open Google Play Store
- Search for AudioPay
- Tap Update if available
Reinstall the App¶
If issues persist:
- Backup your data (note your UPI IDs)
- Uninstall AudioPay
- Reinstall from Play Store
- Grant permissions again
Sign-In Issues¶
Google Sign-In Failed¶
- Check internet connection
- Ensure Google Play Services is up to date
- Try signing in with a different Google account
- Clear Google Play Services cache
Account Not Syncing¶
- Ensure you're signed in (check Settings tab)
- Check internet connection
- Pull down to refresh on Collection tab
- Sign out and sign in again
Premium/Subscription Issues¶
Purchase Not Reflected¶
- Wait a few minutes for Google Play to sync
- Restart the app
- Go to Settings and check Premium status
- Tap "Restore Purchases" if available
Subscription Canceled but Still Charged¶
Subscriptions bill at the start of each period. If you cancel mid-period, you still have access until the period ends.
Contact Google Play Support for billing issues.
Team Mode Issues¶
Can't Create Team¶
- Ensure you have an active Premium subscription
- Ensure you're signed in
- Check internet connection
Team Code Not Working¶
- Verify the code is exactly 6 characters
- Ensure the team still exists (owner hasn't deleted it)
- Ask the owner to verify the code
Not Receiving Team Alerts¶
- Check internet connection
- Ensure notifications are enabled
- Check if you're still in the team (Team tab)
- Ask owner if their device has internet
QR Code Issues¶
QR Code Not Generating¶
- Ensure you've added at least one UPI ID
- Check if the UPI ID format is correct (example@upi)
- Try removing and re-adding the UPI ID
QR Code Not Scanning¶
- Ensure sufficient lighting
- Hold the phone steady
- Try adjusting screen brightness
- Verify the UPI ID is correct
Performance Issues¶
App Running Slow¶
- Clear app cache
- Restart your phone
- Ensure sufficient storage space
- Update to the latest version
High Battery Usage¶
AudioPay typically uses minimal battery. If you notice high usage:
- Check if another app is causing issues
- Disable and re-enable Notification Access
- Reinstall the app
Data Issues¶
Transactions Not Showing¶
- Check the date filter (try "This Month" or "All")
- Pull down to refresh
- Ensure the transaction was actually received
Data Lost After Update¶
If transactions are missing after an update:
- Check if you were previously signed in
- Sign in to restore cloud data (Premium)
- Contact support with your account email
