Troubleshooting¶

A custom font won't upload¶

Confirm the file is a genuine .ttf or .otf font file, not an archive or an image of a font preview
Confirm it's under 10 MB
If Handwriter asks for storage or photo permission, grant it and try again
If the file still fails, it may be corrupted; try re-downloading or re-exporting it from wherever you got it

An image won't insert¶

Grant the photo or storage permission if Handwriter asks for it
Try a different image; very large photos can take longer to crop and process

Page Distortion doesn't seem to do anything¶

This is expected. Page Distortion only appears once you export the PDF - it isn't shown in the live editor. Turn it on in Page Effects, export your document, and check the saved PDF.

"File already exists" when saving or renaming¶

Handwriter won't overwrite a file with the same name.

Choose a different name, or
Rename or delete the existing file first from the home screen

My exported PDF won't open in another app¶

If you tap an exported PDF and don't have the Androxus PDF Reader app installed, Handwriter offers to install it. You can also find the saved PDF file and open it with any other PDF viewer on your device.

I bought Pro but still see ads, or my purchase didn't restore¶

Make sure you're signed in to Google Play with the same Google account you purchased with
Open the Pro screen again so the app can check your purchase with Google Play
Restart Handwriter
If it still doesn't recognise your purchase, email us with your Google Play order number
