Troubleshooting¶
The widget is not in my widget list¶
- Confirm Flow Search is installed and has been opened at least once
- Restart your launcher, or restart the phone. Some launchers cache the widget list
- On Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, Realme and OnePlus devices, check the launcher has permission to add widgets
A button does nothing when tapped¶
Almost always a missing permission.

Open the button's setup sheet again and it will prompt for whatever is missing.
The accessibility service keeps turning itself off¶
Aggressive battery management is the usual cause, and it is common on Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, Realme, OnePlus, Huawei and Samsung devices.
- Android Settings, Apps, Flow Search, Battery
- Set battery usage to Unrestricted
- Lock the app in your recents list if your launcher supports it
- On Xiaomi, enable Autostart for Flow Search
Media controls show nothing¶
- Start playback in your music app first. The widget reads the active media session, so there has to be one
- Confirm notification listener access is granted for Flow Search
- Some music apps do not publish a media session. Try another player to confirm
Search suggestions are not appearing¶
- Check that Search Suggestions is enabled in Settings
- Confirm the device has a working internet connection
- Suggestions come from Google Suggest. If your network blocks Google domains they will not load
App suggestions are missing or incomplete¶
- Confirm App Suggestions is enabled in Settings
- Recently installed apps can take a moment to appear
- Work profile apps are not listed
Contacts or files are not found¶
- Grant contacts permission for contact results
- Grant storage or all files access for file results
- On Android 11 and later, file search needs All Files Access, which Android requires you to grant from a full settings screen rather than a popup
The widget looks wrong after a theme change¶
Rebuild it: remove the widget and add it again. Some launchers do not refresh widget layouts when the system theme changes.
Transparency or blur has no effect¶
Blur is not supported by every launcher or every Android version. If your launcher draws its own background behind widgets, blur may not be visible. Try a solid colour with transparency instead.
The widget resets or goes blank¶
- Set battery usage to Unrestricted as above
- Avoid clearing app data, which removes all widget configurations
- If a widget stays blank, remove it and add it again
Screen recording has no audio¶
Screen Record captures device audio where Android allows it. Some apps block their audio from being captured, and some Android versions restrict it entirely. Microphone audio requires the microphone permission.
