Terms of Service

Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using the Playback mobile application ("App") operated by Androxus ("we," "us," or "our").

By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of these Terms, you may not use the App.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Playback, you agree to:

  • These Terms of Service
  • Our Privacy Policy
  • All applicable laws and regulations

2. Description of Service

Playback is an Android application that:

  • Opens websites and keeps their audio and video playing in the background, with the screen off, or while you use another app
  • Provides a floating window that keeps a page playing on top of other apps
  • Provides one-tap shortcuts to popular platforms, and lets you pin your own shortcuts to your home screen
  • Lets you play a video file already stored on your device
  • Can optionally back up your favorites, history and settings to your own Google Drive

The App is a tool for browsing and playing content that already exists on the open web or on your device. It does not itself host, produce or control any website's or platform's content.

3. Licence

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App for your own use, subject to these Terms.

You may not:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the App, except where that restriction is prohibited by law
  • Redistribute, sell, lease or sublicense the App
  • Remove or alter any proprietary notices
  • Use the App for any unlawful purpose

4. Third-party websites and content

The App lets you open any website, including but not limited to YouTube, YouTube Music, SoundCloud, Spotify Web, Vimeo, Dailymotion and Google. We do not control these sites and are not responsible for their availability, accuracy, content, or any ads or other material they show you. Your use of any website is governed by that site's own terms and privacy policy. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any of them.

You are responsible for having the right to access and play any content you open through the App, including local video files you choose to open, and for complying with the terms of the platforms and any copyright holders involved.

5. Permissions and device access

Some features require Android permissions, including displaying over other apps for the floating window, and notifications for playback controls. You choose whether to grant them, and you may revoke them at any time in Android Settings. Revoking a permission stops the feature that needs it from working, without affecting the rest of the App.

6. Google Drive backup

If you turn on backup, your favorites, history and settings are stored in your own Google Drive account, subject to Google's own terms. We do not control, and are not responsible for, your Google Account or your Google Drive storage.

7. Free and Pro

The App is available at no cost with a limited feature set and is supported by advertising. Playback Pro removes advertising and unlocks the sleep timer, loop playback, and pinning a shortcut to the page you're currently viewing.

  • Purchases are processed by Google Play, not by us
  • Refunds are governed by the Google Play refund policy
  • We may change the features included in Free or Pro, with notice through app updates
  • Advertising is provided by Google AdMob and its mediation partners, and is subject to consent where required by law. See the Privacy Policy

8. Availability and changes

We may modify, suspend or discontinue the App or any feature at any time. Features that depend on Android APIs, third-party websites or platforms, or services such as Google Play and Google Drive may stop working if those change. We are not liable for such changes.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error free, or compatible with every device or Android version, or that any website you open through it will remain available or unchanged.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Androxus is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising from your use of the App.

Our total liability for any claim relating to the App is limited to the amount you paid for it in the twelve months preceding the claim.

11. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold Androxus harmless from any claim arising out of your misuse of the App or your breach of these Terms.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance. The effective date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
